PostSubject: Progress in 2010...   Progress in 2010... I_icon_minitimeTue Jun 15, 2010 12:03 pm

Hi all
Well FULL planning permission has been granted for the skatepark and now the Euxton Skate Park Group is helping the parish council to find funds.
Euxton Parish Council has submitted already one funding bid of £30,000 so if this is granted it will have another £30K to go with the Council's £30K towards the project (total of £60K).
The full project cost is £170K, and the second grant bid is being applied for by Euxton Skate Park Group (which are the young people of the area) to the Lancashire County Council Youth Bank Capital Fund. This fund can offer large amounts for young peoples projects but the grants can only be accessed by young people, for young people so....
CROSS YOUR FINGERS
and, if you are asked for any information or support via email or this Forum, please help by responding.
Thanks
Debra

Hi
The article didn't say the Council had £100K it said that the visionary plans for a £100K skatepark are unveiled so planning permission could be sought.
If the funding streams are quick then we could possibly see progress this year.

Believe what we say on here not in the paper. Since when have the local papers actually reported anything accurately?

I wasn't able to make it the previous meeting. Apologies.

How is the application going for the youth bank fund? And are we able to make the plans public for the park yet?

Though people out there are losing faith and begining to get bored of the idea..

Pull your fingers from where ever they are and get in touch. only positive comments may apply! people did say this park should be built by summer this year but with the lack of interest and help we have had its no wonder no progress has been made.

The Lancashire Youch Bank has a Massive sum close to the £200,000 mark to donate to the park pretty much the majoirty of the funds witch is why this is such a big deal, and could kick the project off big Time!

Problem is its a youth bank only people under the age of 18 can apply witch crosses out myself and most other motivated Extreme sport folk so though it sounds boring and most people think other people will go instead of them cast the negative thoughts from your minds i think another meeting Same Location Same time should be sorted so we can get a real start on making this happen..

so please get in touch!

There are rumours around that this has hit the wall over funding - other projects in the parish seem to be going the same way. Any news?

By the sounds of things yes.
Words from Paul Thomas are that the government has cut the Youth Capital money so funding needs to be found elsewhere.
Wether anyone else knows about this or is going to do anything about this we dont know. but this forum can surly keep you posted.

To Be Honest... nobody really knows whats happening anymore.
there has be no news of any progress being made so from what i can see all hopes and dreams of having that perfectly smooth concrete park have been forgotten about...
though the next best thing could be here
